Santa Teresa Lifeguards Volunteer Program
ILA has partnered with Santa Teresa Lifeguards to strengthen the fight against drowning in Central America.
About Santa Teresa Lifeguards
Founded in 2015 by a group of lifeguards led by Matías Etchenique, this non-profit organization operates in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. During Easter that year, community member Thomas Richie initiated the construction of four lifeguard towers at key locations to enhance beach safety.
Since then, volunteers from all over the world (USA, Argentina, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Portugal, Brazil, France, England, and New Zealand) have participated, providing lifeguard services across multiple areas.
